Accessing the Knowledge and Library Hub

How do I access the NHS Knowledge and Library Hub?

The NHS Knowledge and Library Hub is a simple, easy to use national gateway to high-quality online resources for all NHS staff and students. Wherever you work, look for the search box which looks similar to this:

Or an icon which looks like this:

Shortcut URLs have been created for each organisation to access the NHS Knowledge and Library Hub. This will enable you to browse and search national and local holdings - i.e. items available from us, without the need to login.

The shortcut URLs for our organisations are:

Primary care and ICB staff in Halton, Knowsley and St Helens - https://library.nhs.uk/hkshprimary

St Helens and Knowsley Hospital Staff - https://library.nhs.uk/mwlsthk

If you want to save any searches you will need to login with your NHS OpenAthens account. If you don't have one yet, register for free here.

As you move between placements and posts, the NHS Knowledge and Library Hub will look almost identical wherever you are in the country. But remember to update your NHS OpenAthens account when you move organisation to get access to everything your new organisation has purchased for its staff and learners.
