Random Acts of Kindness Day 2026

Published Date: 12th February 2026

We know that #TeamMWL are kind, after all it's part of our values,

We are Kind, We are Open, We are Inclusive

so it should come as no surprise that the Library likes to celebrate Random Acts Of Kindness Day (this year is our 4th year celebrating)! 17th February every year is the day when we can stop and think about how to be extra kind and is part of Random Acts of Kindness Week (15-20 February) https://www.randomactsofkindness.org/.

We spread a little kindness by placing paper bags of:

  • homemade bookmarks;
  • homemade fridge magnets; and
  • sweets/biscuits

randomly around the library for our users, to hopefully brighten your day a little Sun with a smiley face.  We also place these items loose on a table in the library for anyone to help themselves to.

Do you celebrate this day? If so let us know on our social media posts what you are doing to make kindness the norm.

Being kind to yourself is equally important. If you are able to come into the library, why not borrow one of many leisure reading titles and promise to spend 30 minutes a day reading and relaxing?

We would love to see you next Tuesday 17th February at the Library in Nightingale House.
