Extract
We applaud the original article “Nonaesthetic Applications for Botulinum Toxin in Plastic Surgery,”1 which aims to highlight the evolution of the alternative uses of botulinum toxin by the plastic surgery community. It succeeds in providing an overview of the range of indications, using an evidence-based approach for the benefit of the readership. However, we would like to highlight two further additional uses of botulinum toxin that have been overlooked: the first, in the management of cerebral palsy and severe brain injury patients (including stroke and traumatic brain injury), and the second, in the management of hypercontractile latissimus dorsi breast reconstructions.
