Orthopedic hardware can cause impingement on soft tissues, which include tendons, muscles, nerves, and vessels. We describe a rare case of impingement of the superficial radial nerve (SRN) by a Kirschner wire used for distal radio ulnar stabilization in a 53-year-old female who presented with new symptoms of pain and paraesthesia involving the distribution of SRN at 6 weeks follow-up post surgery, which is further managed by neurolysis and trimming of the impinging K wire. In this report, we highlight the role of ultrasound and advise the incorporation of innovative approaches in the diagnosis and management.
