Celebrating Black History Month

Published Date: 04th October 2023

Throughout October there will be a display of our BAME collection books and other resources in the library. If you can’t make it over to us in Nightingale House, we will have a stall by the 5th floor lifts at Whiston Hospital on Friday 6th October between 11.00am - 2.00pm, where we will also have our book collection on display and our booklist, resource guides and free fridge magnets for you to take away.

We will also be joined by our colleagues from St Helens Public Libraries who will have a stall promoting their Black History resources. Come along and say hello, we’d love to meet you!

Finally, we will also be taking part in Show Racism the Red Card’s annual Wear Red Day on 20th October and giving out stickers to anyone who comes into the library that day. To find out more see the web page here: https://www.theredcard.org/.
