Abstract

We chose to focus my project on urogenital symptoms, as so many women are affected by the impact of lack of oestrogen on urogenital tissue quality despite available treatment options. There are various non-hormonal treatment options available on prescription to manage vasomotor symptoms. These include SSRIs and SNRIs, gabapentin, pregabalin and clonidine (the only one with a license). Many patients experience menopausal symptoms as a direct side effect of their treatment and need help at an earlier stage, whilst still receiving care from the breast cancer service.
